The magneto-caloric effect is the process of magnetic or ferrous materials changing temperature when exposed to a magnetic field. We are working to better understand this process by building a magneto-calorimeter and analyzing the possible effects of alleged paranormal environments on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The magneto-caloric effect can cause heating or cooling when applied in different approaches. Since the human body has a certain level of permeability we would like to understand if there is a heating process in certain environments. Heating can cause a variety of psychological effects including anxiety, stress, etc.
